Emulated Services over IP and DSL

Emulated Services over IP and DSL

Your Needs
Deliver emulated TDM and IP/Ethernet services over packet networks with DSL and fiber access.

Our Solution
RAD's LA-x10 Ethernet access devices and IPmux TDM pseudowire gateways work opposite each other to deliver emulated services over IP and DSL transport. Featuring standard pseudowire encapsulation capabilities, these devices enable service providers to take advantage of new IP, MPLS or Etherenet networks to deliver legacy services, such as PSTN access, while ensuring accurate synchronization over the PSN.

Benefits
  • Reduce OpEx by using existing and ubiquitous copper (DSL) infrastructure
  • Use fiber infrastructure for high bandwidth data and TDM services
  • Offer consistent user experience over diverse access

Increase Broadband Service Coverage to Rural Areas

Increase Broadband Service Coverage to Rural Areas

Your Needs
Extend broadband services reach for to rural areas over existing PDH/SDH/SONET infrastructure.

Our Solution for Increasing Broadband Service Coverage to Rural Areas
RAD’s EtherAccess® network demarcation and aggregation solutions allow service providers to expand their out-of-region WiMAX and DSL service coverage using PDH/SDH/SONET backhaul. By connecting to remote DSLAMs or WiMAX base stations from one end, and to the Egate Ethernet over TDM aggregation gateways from the other, the RICi network termination units enable cost-effective delivery of new Ethernet services by backhauling them over radio links, as well as over fractional E1/T1, bonded n x E1/T1 circuits, E3/T3 channels and SDH/SONET backbones.

Benefits
  • Allow carrier-class Ethernet service delivery to sites where native Ethernet is not yet available
  • Reduce CapEx and enable quick service rollouts by using existing DSL services instead of laying new infrastructure
  • Support class of service prioritization using VLAN and MAC bridging for carrier-level quality of service

Ethernet Services over SHDSL and SHDSL.bis Lines

Ethernet Services over SHDSL and SHDSL.bis Lines

Your Needs
Extend Ethernet services over SHDSL and SHDSL.bis to areas beyond your Metro fiber network.

Our Solution
RAD’s SHDSL modems, multiservice access nodes and PoP aggregation solutions enable service providers to quickly and economically extend Ethernet services over SHDSL and SHDSL.bis connections. Connecting up to 80 remote locations, these devices provide a complete, end-to-end Ethernet solution over diverse access lines and across packet switched networks. In addition, RAD’s solutions for extending Ethernet services over SHDSL and SHDSL.bis substantially reduce operating expenditures (OpEx) by allowing carriers and service providers to leverage their existing installed-base in reaching out-of-footprint customers and rolling out new broadband services.

Benefits:

  • Allow service reach extension to any customer
  • Support fast deployment of Ethernet services
  • Implement service differentiation at the remote PoP by cross connecting traffic from any channel directly to any other channel or by handing off to transport network
  • Enable flexible aggregation in granular rates from a single timeslot to n x E1/T1

Ethernet Virtual Private Line – EVPL

Ethernet Virtual Private Line – EVPL

Your Needs:
Establish multi point-to-point connectivity between a main office and remote locations for bandwidth-intensive business applications over Metro Ethernet or a long-haul wide area network (WAN).

Our Solution:
RAD’s EtherAccess® Carrier Ethernet demarcation devices enable cost-effective provisioning of fully-managed Ethernet virtual private line (EVPL) services over E1/T1, xDSL and PSN access. Enhanced with high-level traffic management and performance monitoring functionalities, EtherAccess demarcation devices provide simultaneous support for multiple Ethernet virtual connections (EVCs) at native Ethernet rates, with individual delivery priorities per service.

Benefits
  • Ideal for file sharing, inter-LAN connectivity between dispersed locations and remote backup applications
  • Support MEF- (Metro Ethernet Forum)-9 and MEF-14 specifications for EVPL service delivery over any access technology
  • Allow granular service provisioning as dictated by subscriber traffic needs
  • Enable subscribers to define different quality-of-service (QoS) levels for real-time and delay-tolerant services using per-port priority schemes
  • Support end-to-end service visibility with Ethernet OAM and performance monitoring

Corporate Ethernet Services over SDH/SONET

Corporate Ethernet Services over SDH/SONET

Your needs
Connect PBX and LAN traffic from remote sites to corporate headquarters over SDH/SONET networks.

Our solution
RAD's solution for extending corporate Ethernet and voice services over SDH/SONET networks is a cost-saving multiservice solution for fiber and copper networks. Using legacy SDH/SONET infrastructure, carriers can effectively deploy a protected L2 VPN service interconnecting multiple enterprise sites. Standard GFP muxing and enhanced Ethernet provisioning capabilities ensure most efficient use of available SDH/SONET bandwidth.

Benefits
  • Easy and quick deployment
  • One-time configuration saves operational costs by confining future bandwidth adjustments to network devices
  • Compliant with the latest Ethernet over SDH/SONET standards
  • Full DCC management via any SDH/SONET infrastructure for further OpEx optimization
